Service Description
Starting secondary school is a big step. Some young people can’t wait, while others quietly wonder whether they’ll make friends, fit in, cope with a bigger school or find their way around. Most are somewhere in between. Hub Club Presents… Level Up! has been created to give Primary 7 pupils the opportunity to explore these thoughts and feelings before the new school year begins, in a relaxed, supportive and enjoyable community setting. Throughout the day, young people will take part in games, team challenges, creative activities and guided discussions, all carefully designed to help them build confidence, develop resilience, strengthen communication skills and learn practical ways of managing change. They’ll also have the chance to meet other young people from local feeder primary schools, helping them begin secondary school already recognising familiar faces and building new friendships. The day is designed and facilitated by Mike Ogden of MJO Wellbeing Services Ltd, an experienced children’s counsellor and wellbeing practitioner. Every activity has a clear developmental purpose, helping participants recognise their own strengths, develop confidence and leave with practical wellbeing strategies they can continue to use throughout their transition to secondary school and beyond. Whether your child is feeling excited, nervous or simply unsure what to expect, Level Up! offers a welcoming space where they’ll discover they are not the only one preparing for this exciting new chapter. We hope every participant leaves feeling more confident, more connected and knowing they don’t have to have everything figured out before they walk through the school gates. They simply need the confidence to take the next step. Booking Information Proposed event date: Thursday 23 July 2026 This event is currently subject to final funding approval.
